John Bernard Sporko, 81, passed away peacefully on April 21, 204 at his home in Milford CT. John was born on September 10, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT to the late John and Stella Sporko. John was the beloved husband of the late Gladys Sporko.
John proudly worked for the Milford Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 35 years before retiring and beginning his second career as a school bus driver for Winkle Bus Co. for an additional 20 years. John was the kind of man who loved to stay moving, whether that was participating in 5k races or taking long leisurely walks on the beach. He enjoyed being social and had a long standing tradition of getting coffee each Sunday and enjoying a Dining Club he formed with his close friends. Each year he and his wife, Gladys, made an annual trip to Florida to enjoy the sun and beautiful views. However, what he was most known for was his generosity and love for his family.
He is survived by his two sons: Anthony Sporko and his life partner Rebecca Marquis, and James Sporko and his wife Theresa Sporko. He is also survived by his three beloved grandchildren: Stuart Sporko, Amanda Kastelein and her husband Jeremy Kastelein, and Andrew Adams. Three great-grandchildren: Avery, Easton and Emerson Kastelein. Brother Richard Sporko and his wife Laurene, and his best friend Ed Michaud. As well as many additional beloved family and friends.
